The North Decatur Chargers had a long road trip Friday night to take on non-conference opponent, North Daviess. The Cougars entered the contest 4-1 and hoped to regroup following a disappointing loss to Linton. The Chargers entered the contest 4-2, having come off a solid victory over Rushville. The teams jockeyed for position during the first quarter, but the Chargers found the end zone at the 8:38 mark in the second quarter with an 18 yard pass from Carson Parmer to Logan Koehne. The Chargers would find the end zone two more times before halftime and three more times in the second half. The defense, however, some of their best numbers to date, holding the Cougars to only 128 yards of passing offense and -2 yards of rushing offense. Senior lineback, Connor Messer, led the defensive performance with 5 solo tackles, 8 assists, 3.5 tackles for loss, and three interceptions. The Chargers are next in action on the road against Switzerland County.
